Window Cleaning

Why hire a professional window cleaner?

Let's face it, one of the primary reasons you would hire someone to do this job is because it's probably one you would like to avoid doing. Armed with a cloth and a bucket of soapy water you can spend several weekends of your precious spare time cleaning your windows. Hiring a window cleaner will, at minimum, give you your time back! However, a professional window cleaner is one who has finely developed their craft - leaving no streaks, no runs, and no mess. Hiring a professional window cleaner is your guarantee that they have the right tools to get the job done efficiently, and to a high standard. Of course, calling oneself a professional window cleaner does not make it so. Look for a reputable brand, with uniformed employees (as opposed to a rotating door of casual contractors), who provide written quotes and written quality guarantees.

How much does professional window cleaning cost

This can vary greatly, in line with the quality of the window cleaning provided. Also, every property is different. The condition of windows vary's greatly, as does the accessibility for ladders etc. In general, you could expect a full interior and exterior window clean to cost between $150-$250 for an average 3 bedroom townhouse, between $250-$350 for a single level 4 bedroom home, and between $350-$700 for a larger multiple storey home. Residential and commercial office/retail window cleaning varies greatly.

How often should I have my windows cleaned?

As a minimum, after an initial complete window clean (i.e. both interior and exterior) we recommend having the exterior of your windows cleaned every six months, the interior every twelve. Like a shower screen, your windows are susceptible to chemical etching from the minerals and pollutants in water (i.e. hard water staining). Regular cleaning will keep your windows looking cleaner, for longer, and of course will maximise the light and view.

What's included in window cleaning?

Our quote will always detail the inclusions of each clean we provide. Generally, a complete internal and external window cleaning will include cleaning of your fly screens, window sills, window tracks, and the removal of cobwebs from around the window frames. In addition we can include the cleaning of skylights and internal glass balustrades, shower screens and pool fencing etc.

Are you insured and licensed to do this work?

We are completely insured for Public Liability, Product Liability, and even for Pollution. In short you are covered should anything go wrong. We also carry personal insurance of various types. At present there are no licensing requirements to provide window cleaning services, although we are working with the Master Window Cleaners Association of Australia to ascertain the feasibility of lobbying for such a license. Until such time, we recommend you use only reputable window cleaning companies and service providers.

How far in advance do I need to book?

Our peak periods are in Spring and the early months of Summer. During these times we are often booked at least two weeks in advance. For the remainder of the year you can expect to need to book 1 week in advance. Often, we can accommodate late bookings as we work extended hours and Saturdays.

What if it rains?

Firstly, once windows are clean it takes quite some time before your windows are dirty again, whether it rains or not, so rain will not spoil newly cleaned windows. However, climbing on ladders and roofs when it's raining is a safety hazard, so in the case of heavy rain or ongoing drizzle we will need to re-schedule your window cleaning for a mutually convenient time.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept cash, cheque and also take credit card payments through our secure PayPal smart phone app.

What other services do you offer?

We offer most external cleaning services. We provide residential gutter cleaning, and professional nano technology application. We are specialists in the area of residential window cleaning, retail shopfront window cleaning, and in particular we provide a highly specialised area of post-construction window cleaning.

Solar Panel Cleaning

How often should I have my solar panels cleaned?

After an initial clean we recommend having your solar panels cleaned every 12-36 months, depending on the general level of pollutants your panels are exposed to (e.g. being close to high traffic roads etc). Like any glass surface, your solar panels are susceptible to chemical etching from the minerals and pollutants in water (i.e. hard water staining). Regular cleaning will keep your solar panels well maintained and efficient.

How long will it take?

Depending on the size of the property the complete service can take anywhere from 1-3 hours. At the time of your quote we will give you an estimate of the timeframe involved and provide a written, fixed price quote.

What if it rains?

Firstly, once glass is clean it takes quite some time before your it becomes dirty again, whether it rains or not, so rain will not spoil newly cleaned solar panels. However, climbing on ladders and roofs when it's raining is a safety hazard, so in the case of heavy rain or ongoing drizzle we will need to re-schedule your solar panel cleaning for a mutually convenient time.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept cash, cheque and also take credit card payments through our secure PayPal smart phone app.

Do you give quotes over the phone?

We rarely need to visit your property to provide a quote for solar panel cleaning. We simply work on the basis of the size/number of panels in your system and we use Google Earth to view the roof line of your property. This saves you money as we don't need to factor in multiple visits to your property in our pricing.

Post-construction Window Cleaning

Why do I need a specialist post-construction window cleaner?

Any construction or renovation will invariably leave construction materials on the windows - such as cement, render, paint, stickers, sealant and general building dirt and dust. Removing these requires specialist tools and techniques to ensure the glass is not scratched or otherwise damaged in the process. Very few window cleaners are actually trained in the process. If you engage anyone other than a trained professional in this area you run the risk of serious damage to your glass and windows.

Are there any safety/insurance concerns?

YES! Any building site in a state of repair, renovation, or construction is a construction site that must meet WorkCover requirements. Anyone contracted to work on the premise must hold a current White Card issued by WorkCover and adhere to safe work practices.

How long does post-construction window cleaning take?

Every property is different, as is the degree of debris on each window. At the time of your quote we will give you an estimate of the timeframe involved and the number(s) of window cleaning technicians required for the job. Generally speaking you should expect a post-construction clean to take up to twice as long as a regular window clean.

How do you protect my carpets, curtains and furniture etc?

At all times when we are inside your home we wear shoe covers and use drop sheets to protect your floor coverings and furnishings.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept cash, cheque and also take credit card payments through our secure PayPal smart phone app.

Do you give quotes over the phone?

Most post-construction window cleaning quotes are supplied only after an initial inspection of the property, however if your property has gone through a fairly standard renovation and still uses the original windows and glass then we are often able to provide a written quote after an initial phone call.

Retail/Office Window Cleaning

How much does this cost?

Pricing for office and shopfront window cleaning can be as little as $1 per pane of glass. Keep in mind that we offer one off, weekly, fortnightly, monthly, quarterly and any other scheduled window cleaning, so the price varies for each customer. The simplest thing to do is simply request an obligation free quote and discuss your needs. We will tailor a cleaning programme to meet your needs (and that of your customers). Remember, the amount of time it takes an untrained employee to do it with dismal results will be frustrating for the business owner and the staff! We want you doing what you do best, and not ever having to worry about the image you portray to the public.

How are you different to the average local Joe window cleaning service?

It's true that most people can clean windows with some training and time. However, unlike your local bloke-with-a-bucket our staff are uniformed, insured and professionally trained. Your payment can be made via cash, cheque or credit card and we provide written quotes and detailed monthly invoices. In addition, when your local bloke-with-a-bucket is sick or goes on holidays you are left in the lurch, with dirty windows. Not so with us. Lastly, unlike most window cleaners we always detail the frames and edges of your windows so that you don't see soap stains and water runs etc.

Do I need to sign a contract?

No. We do like to email our customers an agreement that sets out the details of the service however we often work to a simple handshake agreement.

Can you clean our windows outside of regular business hours?

Yes, we sure can. Of course if you would like the internal windows cleaned we do need internal access.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept cash, cheque and also take credit card payments through our secure PayPal smart phone app.

Do you give quotes over the phone?

More often than not we do provide an initial quote via email once we've established your needs over the phone and viewed your property using Google Earth. On occasions we made need to discuss an adjustment if our initial clean proves to be much more (or less) resource intensive.
